Cornwall teenager charged after girl dies after night out

A Cornwall teenager has been charged with drug offenses after a 16-year-old girl died after allegedly taking MDMA in a nightclub. James Greaves, 18 and of Basset Road, Camborne, was charged with being concerned in the supply of ecstasy and supplying a Class A drug.

Lucy Hill died after emergency services were called to Move Nightclub, in Exeter, at around 12.30am on December 3, 2022. She was rushed to hospital but died at around 5.30am.

Devon and Cornwall Police said four teenagers, two men and two women, were arrested after her death. It was confirmed today, Thursday May 16, that Greaves and Taylor Rowsell, 18, of Rosebery Road, Exmouth, have been charged with being concerned in the supply of ecstasy and supplying a class A drug.

Both teenagers have been released on bail and will appear at Exeter Crown Court on Wednesday, June 12. Police added that an 18-year-old woman has been cautioned and a second woman, also 18, will face no further action after being arrested in connection with it. with death.

“Taylor Rowsell, aged 18, of Rosebery Road, Exmouth, was charged with being concerned in the supply of ecstasy and supplying a class A drug. He was bailed to appear at Magistrates’ Court Exeter on Wednesday 12th June.

“An 18-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of a class A drug was given a simple adult caution for the offence.

“No further police action will be taken against an 18-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of a Class A drug.”
