Review: Burger King Royal Crispy Chicken Wraps, ranked

Fast food packaging is having a moment.

As rumors continue to swirl that McDonald’s is preparing to bring back its fan-favorite wraps, many other fast-food chains have gotten in on the frenzy.

In 2023, Burger King launched a new line of chicken wraps to compete with Wendy’s, who started selling his own in March of that year. KFC and Chick-fil-A also sell their own chicken wraps.

At the time, the chains were believed to be trying to win over customers who craved McDonald’s wraps.

Introduced in 2006, McDonald’s snack wrap consisted of either white meat, crispy or grilled chicken breast, shredded cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce and a variety of ranch, honey mustard or salsa, wrapped in a tortilla soft.

Wraps began to be phased out in 2015, much to the dismay of fans. In 2020, a petition to bring back McDonald’s snack wraps was launched, gathering over 18,000 signatures.

Now, outlets like Food & Wine and Delish are reporting that McDonald’s may be preparing to relaunch the iconic snack wrapper in anticipation of a new McCrispy chicken launch.

“Today, the size of the company’s chicken business is on par with beef as the company continues to aggressively expand through billion-dollar acquisitions, including McNuggets, McChicken, McCrispy and McSpicy,” the company said in a statement in December.

“This includes plans to offer McCrispy in almost all markets worldwide by the end of 2025 and to expand McCrispy into takeaways and tenders,” the statement continued.

Until McDonald’s wraps officially return, there are a few alternatives. Enter Burger King’s Royal Crispy Wraps, which come in four different flavor options.

All relatively low in calories—at least compared to some of the chain’s burgers—and cheap, the wraps have earned a permanent place on Burger King menus.

Here’s every Burger King chicken wrap, ranked from worst to best.
