Patrick Mahomes says Taylor Swift is ‘making’ plays to help the Chiefs

Taylor Swift wants the Kansas City Chiefs to keep winning, and it looks like she’s taken matters into her own hands to make sure they do.

According to the team’s star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, the singer turned her attention to crafting songs for the team.

Speaking to NBC ahead of the new NFL season, Mahomes praised Swift for her involvement and interest in the NFL since she started dating teammate tight end Travis Kelce.

She’s “the most famous person in the world,” Mahomes said, adding that she’s “very into football.”

“He asks a lot of great questions,” he continued. “She’s already preparing plays, so we might need to put one on.”

The Chiefs, who won their fourth Super Bowl earlier this year, will begin the new season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.

It has not yet been confirmed if the Grammy Award-winning musician will be at Arrowhead Stadium to support Kelce on the big day.

A representative for Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, which was sent outside regular business hours.

Mahomes praised the pop star for her role in promoting the NFL to young girls and women.

“I think it’s been great to see girls and women really embrace watching football,” the three-time Super Bowl MVP said.

“I know as a girl daddy, how cool it is for me to see these little girls and daughters and how much they enjoy spending time with their dad watching football,” Mahomes said.

Swift has attended and cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs at several games since she started dating Kelce last year, and some have playfully pointed out that Kelce improved field performance when Swift watches.

“I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift told Time in a rare interview last year. “I don’t know if I’m being shown too much and if I’m pissing off a few dads and Brads and Chads.”
