Murder charge after woman found dead in Leicester home

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead in a house in Leicester.

Bhajan Kaur, 76, was discovered at a house on Bolsover Street in North Evington shortly after 8pm BST on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said Sindeep Singh has been charged and remanded in custody.

The 47-year-old, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Friday.

The force previously said it approached the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because of “previous contact with the police”.
