UK stocks fall at close of trade; Investing.com UK 100 down 0.83% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in London, it lost 0.83%.

The best performers of the session were EasyJet PLC (LON: ), which rose 2.74% or 13.00 points to trade at 488.00 at the close. Meanwhile, B&M European Value Retail SA (LON: ) added 2.19% or 9.60 points to end at 447.10 and Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON: ) was up 1.72% or 8.00 points to 472. 30 at the end of transactions.

The worst performers of the session were Movement to the right PLC (LON: ), which decreased 6.78% or 48.00 points to 660.00 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON: ) declined 5.63% or 30.50 points to end at 511.50 and Anglo American PLC (LON: ) traded down 4.81% or 106.50 points to end at 2,108.50.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1,216 to 578, with 677 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.36 percent, or 9.05, to $2,518.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery fell 3.77%, or 2.77, to $70.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.39% or 3.40, to 74.12 dollars per barrel.

GBP/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.

US dollar index futures rose 0.12% to 101.74.
