Mexico stocks fall at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.72% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, it fell 1.72% to hit a new 6-month low.

The best performers of the session were Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV: ), which rose 2.24% or 3.73 points to trade at 170.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Becle SA (BMV: ) added 1.09% or 0.35 points to end at 32.48 and Continental Ark SAB De CV (BMV: ) was up 0.58% or 1.02 points to trade at 178.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: ), which fell 6.00% or 1.28 points to trade at 20.05 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV: ) declined 5.01% or 6.63 points to 125.70 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV: ) declined 4.92% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.15.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 151 to 94, with 11 ending unchanged.

Shares of Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:) fell to a minimum; losing 4.92% or 0.37 to 7.15.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.11%, or 2.80, to $2,524.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery fell 4.53%, or 3.33, to $70.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to $73.67 per barrel.

USD/MXN rose 0.07% to 19.80, while EUR/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 21.86.

US dollar index futures rose 0.07% to 101.69.
