Las Vegas Strip casino signs music superstar for extended residency

As summer winds down on the Las Vegas Strip, several hotel casino theaters have closed longtime headlining residencies.

Lady Gaga took the plunge this summer, wrapping up her “Jazz & Piano” residency at MGM Resorts International. (MGM) Park MGM Dolby Live Theater on July 6. The superstar singer first presented the “Jazz & Piano” version of her residency on August 31, 2013, with 12 shows ending on October 5, 2023.

Lady Gaga enjoyed her residency on the Las Vegas Strip so much that she told the audience at her September 7, 2023 show that she wanted her Dolby Live residency to last “forever.” She brought the residency back for a further eight performances on 19 June 2024, but the show closed in July with no further performances added.

Legendary jam band Dead & Company has arrived at Sphere Entertainment’s (SPHR) Sphere on the Las Vegas Strip on May 16 for what would be a 30-show residency, playing three shows over 10 weekends as part of his “Dead Forever Live at Sphere Las Vegas” engagement. The band closed their residency on August 10th.

Pop singer Christina Aguilera has launched her Las Vegas Strip residency at Voltaire under Apollo Global Management (APO) Venetian Resort Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve weekend, December 30-31, 2023, to sell its crowds and recently completed its engagement on August 31.

Las Vegas rock band The Killers have landed their first Strip residency at the 4,300-seat Colosseum at Caesars Palace, a 10-show engagement that began on August 14th and just ended on September 1st.

And finally, superstar singer Shania Twain has scheduled the final nine shows of her “Come On Over” residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip, concluding Super Bowl weekend, Caesars Entertainment. (CZR) said in a statement on September 3.

Twain has added new shows by popular demand on January 22nd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 31st, February 1st, 5th, 7th and 8th, with Citi Cardmember pre-sales beginning September 4th at 10am Pacific Time on Ticketmaster and on sale for the artist. September 4th at 2pm Pacific. Live Nation, Ticketmaster and Partner presale begins September 5th at 10am Pacific.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 7th at 10am Pacific.

A limited number of tickets remain for Twain’s 11 previously scheduled residency shows on September 4, 6, 7, November 29, 30, December 4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14, which are also in on sale at Ticketmaster. .

Twain returned to the Strip at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater for a 24-show residency in 2024, beginning May 10 and scheduled to end on December 14. The theater’s name was changed to PH Live earlier this year after the Bakkt Las Vegas contract expired. The Review-Journal reported.

The residency commemorates the 25th anniversary of Twain’s hit album Come On Over, which featured smash hits Man! I Feel Like A Woman’, ‘From This Moment On’, ‘You’re Still The One’ and ‘That Don’. you don’t impress me much.”

Twain held two long-running residencies on the Strip, her “Still the One” engagement at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2012-2014 and “Let’s Go” at the Zappos Theater before it was renamed the Bakkt Theater at Caesars Entertainment’s Planet. Hollywood Las Vegas in 2019-2022.
