Sheffield man tries to unite community through music

Sonny Anderson has made it his mission to make music accessible to the entire community.

Ten 2 One Sound launched in February this year as a small reggae group hosting free events for music lovers.

Sonny said: “I’ve run free sessions and they’re basically anywhere that will allow me to put a sound system on.

“My last event was a DIY project, my old drum teacher Dan said – I’ve got a space, you want to use it – and I said that would be absolutely incredible.”

He continued: “I loved reggae when I was a kid and I always thought it was a shame not to be anything I could really go to, so I think it’s just brilliant.”

Ten 2 One’s latest event, supported by Steel Rockers Sound System, featured a wide range of local artists.

In addition to music, Sonny promotes and supports local businesses through his events, selling food and encouraging attendees to bring their own beer, sourced from local breweries.

Sonny promotes events for Ten 2 One Sound through this Instagram page, as well as promoting other events he will be playing in Sheffield.
