Ryan Specialty completes purchase of Greenhill assets from Alera

Ryan Specialty said it has completed its acquisition of certain assets of Greenhill Underwriting Insurance Services from Alera Group, Inc, effective September 1.

The deal was previously announced last month. Alera acquired Greenhill in 2022.

Houston-based Greenhill is a technology-managed general insurance company focused on the allied health industry. The Greenhill team will be part of Sapphire Blue, Ryan Specialty Healthcare’s managing general agent.

Founded in 2014, Greenhill is a small and mid-sized allied healthcare policy management insurer with a growing portfolio of product offerings. Greenhill provides coverage in the excess lines market for allied health care such as home health care and physical therapy and social service organizations. Greenhill’s business is powered by a proprietary web-based technology, Triton.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
