Fitch changes outlook on global reinsurers to neutral, says analyst By Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) – Ratings agency Fitch changed its outlook on global reinsurers to neutral from upgrade, saying it expected the sector to remain resilient but that prices had likely peaked, Fitch analyst Manuel Arrive said on Thursday.

Reinsurers insure insurers and have increased their rates in recent years in response to losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, wars and natural disasters. But industry sources see the cycle starting to turn.

Reinsurers meet next week for their annual conference in Monte Carlo.
