Japan shares fall at the close; The Nikkei 225 was down 0.62% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, it lost 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the were M3 Inc (TYO: ), which rose 6.57% or 87.00 points to trade at 1,412.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 4.91% or 152.00 points to end at 3,247.00 and Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO: ) was up 2.88% or 19.00 points to 678.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Rakuten Inc (TYO: ), which declined 4.96% or 49.40 points to trade at 946.40 at the close. Daikin Industries, Ltd. (TYO: ) declined 3.75% or 675.00 points to end at 17,305.00 and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (TYO: ) declined 3.66% or 65.00 points to 1,712.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2,691 to 952, with 210 ending unchanged.

Crude oil for October delivery rose 0.39%, or 0.27, to $69.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for November delivery rose 0.36%, or 0.26, to $72.95 a barrel, while December gold futures rose 0.27 % or 6.75 to $2,549.85 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY fell 0.78% to 142.32, while EUR/JPY fell 0.73% to 158.22.

US dollar index futures fell 0.20% to 100.87.
