Italian stocks fall at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.12% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, down 1.12%.

The best performers of the session were Hera (BIT: ), which rose 1.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.56 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A SpA (BIT: ) added 1.07% or 0.02 points to end at 2.08 and Enel (BIT: ) was up 0.80% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Prysmian SpA (BIT: ), which declined 3.90% or 2.40 points to trade at 59.20 at the close. STMicroelectronics ( BIT: ) declined 3.08% or 0.82 points to end at 25.83 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA ( BIT: ) declined 2.73% or 0.14 points to end at . 4.91.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 363 to 125, with 31 ending unchanged.

A2A SpA (BIT:) shares rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.07% or 0.02 to 2.08. Shares of STMicroelectronics ( BIT: ) fell to 3-year lows; down 3.08% or 0.82 to 25.83. Enel (BIT:) shares rose to 52-week highs; by 0.80% or from 0.06 to 7.05.

Crude oil for October delivery fell 2.18%, or 1.51, to $67.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for November delivery fell 2.17%, or 1.58, to $71.11 a barrel, while December gold futures fell 0.52 % or 13.10, to $2,530.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.

US dollar index futures rose 0.11% to 101.18.
