Birmingham Airport is updating live as a huge queue forms outside

Hundreds of people in the security queue at Birmingham Airport queued at the front entrance on Friday, leaving tourists angry. Passengers flying from the airport which is popular with Welsh travelers have taken to social media to express their frustrations.

Some claimed they arrived at the airport early to ensure they boarded their flight on time – but were still hit by huge delays. The massive line wound out of the building and along the check-in areas before even reaching security.

The airport is currently carrying out construction work to build a “more streamlined” security area. The airport’s main escalators are out of service, and tourists are forced to use the elevators.
