This is One: 30,000 runners, 100,000 spectators and the last chance to enter the 10k.

With just 10 days to go until this year’s AJ Bell Great Manchester Run, the countdown has begun for Manchester’s much-loved event.

This year’s half marathon distance has already sold out and we expect the 10k event to do the same in the coming days.

Paul Foster, chief executive of The Great Run Company, said: “Over 30,000 runners are registered to take part in the renowned 10km and half marathon event in Great Manchester. Sunday, May 26with over 100,000 spectators expected to line the streets, runners roaring from start to finish.

“Not only is the event broadcast live on BBC One to millions, but there’s an electric atmosphere from start to finish, with live bands, charity milestones and tens of thousands of supporters cheering along.

“Club runners, fun runners and fundraisers share the same streets as the world’s elite athletes and will be mixed with more famous faces with the likes of Gemma Atkinson, Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars running this year – we can’t wait let’s welcome everyone to the starting line next Sunday, May 26.”

AJ Bell Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run

It’s not just for adults, the Junior & Mini event returns to the Etihad on Saturday 25 May, welcoming runners aged 3-8 and 9-15.

The kids’ events offer high-energy fun from start to finish, crazy costumes, lots of high fives and a very special finisher’s medal. Our Mini Runners (ages 3-8) complete a fun and frenetic 1.6km race, while our Junior Runners (ages 9-15) take on a 2.5km challenge.
