The leader of an organized crime gang in Yorkshire has been jailed

A Bradford-based organized crime gang leader has been jailed for his role in supplying cocaine and ketamine, worth an estimated £460,000.

Mohammed Laher, 32, was jailed at Bradford Crown Court yesterday (May 15) after admitting his role in a plot which involved the wholesale supply of drugs destined for the streets of West Yorkshire and neighboring counties . Laher, of Leeds Old Road, was jailed for seven years and four months for conspiracy to supply cocaine and five years and four months to run concurrently for conspiracy to supply ketamine, a Class B drug.




He is the fourth person to be convicted in connection with West Yorkshire Police’s Program Precision team investigation into serious organized crime. Other members of the gang included Myles Shepherd, 29, of Pynate Road, Batley, described as a reliable courier, who was jailed for three years and six months last September after police found a kilo of cocaine in a car he was driving. Colne, Lancashire, on March 15 last year.

Mohammed Ismail, 29, of Gloucester Avenue, Bradford, was jailed for five years last September after police found one kilogram of cocaine and 15kg of ketamine in a vehicle he he was driving on Musgrave Road and at premises under his control in Fagley Mini Market. , Moorside Road, on March 27 last year.

Client Andrew Bullough, 57, of HM Prison Durham, was given a total sentence of six years for conspiracy to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property, as well as other unrelated offences, which took place in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Detective Inspector Chris Rukin, from West Yorkshire Police’s Precision Program Serious Organized Crime Team, said: “Laher was the leading member of this organized crime group. He had a number of criminal associates working on his behalf who played significant roles in this enterprise at Laher’s direction.
