FBI reports 45% rise in crypto fraud, $5.6 billion lost, 71% of investment scams

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crime Complaint Center has revealed a sharp increase in cryptocurrency fraud complaints, with more than 69,000 cases and losses of $5.6 billion. Investment scams accounted for 71% of these losses, highlighting the growing exploitation of digital currencies. The FBI also noted that crypto fraud accounts for nearly half of total losses. (…)
