Birmingham’s beautiful craft market you could reach by train or tube this weekend

An artisan market selling pastries, cheese, chocolate, wine, art, gifts and more will open tomorrow (May 18), just a stone’s throw from the Jewelery Quarter train and tram station. The Jewelery Quarter Artisan Market is a monthly party that usually takes place in the iconic St Paul’s Square on the third Saturday of the month, but tomorrow (Saturday 18 May) it will be in Gold Square due to a wedding at the historic church.

The Craft Market is a market part of Kings Heath and Bournville Markets, offering local traders and makers the opportunity to meet customers and sell their wares. We visited Bournville on the last market day and had a great time, you can read about it here and visit the village green this Sunday 19th May for another monthly community event.

Around 36 traders will be manning stalls at the Jewelery Quarter market. These include handmade children’s clothing Alternativ Bones, artisanal chocolate Kneals, All Around Record Store and Nanobrewery Birmingham Infinity Brewery.

Other creators who will be selling their wares include Manila Artisan Bakery, Bree Osh savouries, Black Birds Bakery and Jam Lab. Jewelers will come out of their workshops to share their work too.

The Gold Square is the space next to the Big Peg, the Rose Villa Tavern and the Jewelery Quarter clock. The weather will be fine tomorrow with rain forecast after the market closes for the day.

The market is approximately 2km from Birmingham New Street station if you walk up Bennetts Hill and Newhall Street. Alternatively, hop on the Tube from Wolverhampton, Edgbaston or any of the intermediate stations, including The Hawthorns and the beautiful Library of Birmingham, and you’ll disembark just around the corner from the square.
