Simon Jordan claims Nottingham Forest and the City Ground after the play-off semi-final victory at Leeds

TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan has now issued an interesting claim on Nottingham Forest and the City Ground following Leeds United’s win on Thursday.

The Yorkshire club booked their place in the Championship play-off final on Thursday after beating Norwich City 4-0.

Daniel Farke’s side could now find themselves playing Nottingham Forest next season in the top flight after a topsy-turvy campaign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

Although not officially safe, it would take something of a miracle to see Luton Town overturn the three-point, 12-goal gap between the two sides on Sunday.

Speaking about Leeds’ emphatic win on Thursday night, Jordan has now drawn a comparison between the two clubs.

And the former Crystal Palace owner made no comparison to the struggles both sides have faced in the top flight.

What Simon Jordan has now said about Leeds United and Nottingham Forest

It’s a season Forest will be more than happy to see behind him with problems on and off the pitch leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis was expected to take legal action if Forest went down because of some of the VAR decisions that went against them.

But one thing that has been there all season is the support from the City Ground faithful.

Forest have faced it this season and could end up surviving by the skin of their teeth.

But the Forest fans certainly gave the visiting teams a 12th man to play against when they arrive at the City Ground.

And speaking on TalkSPORT on Friday morning, Jordan drew a comparison with the atmosphere created at both the City Ground and Elland Road.

“When you go to Elland Road you know you are at a football club. When you walk into that stadium, you see the atmosphere,” he said.

“To some extent it is different but comparable when you go to Nottingham Forest and you go and watch Nottingham Forest play. I’ve taken teams there and I can see the atmosphere and the feeling towards the club.”

Andrew Omobamidele also greeted the Forest fans

When the team struggles the way Forest have at times this season, it will be easy for fans to vent their frustrations.

However, this was not the case at Forest, with the City Ground uniting behind their players.

And that didn’t go unnoticed by the players, with defender Andrew Omobamidele greeting the Forest fans.

“Tuesday night was a great night. I keep coming back to it, but the fans were amazing,” he said after their win over Fulham.

“You know, it was something I haven’t experienced too many times in my career, that level of buzz from minute one to the last.”
