I visited a $600 adult summer camp with a waiting list of 60,000 people

• The three-day event in August had 480 participants – four times more than last year’s camp.
• Its founder said this year’s camp sold out in 10 minutes and had a waiting list of 60,000 people.

On a typical summer afternoon, Camp IHC, nestled in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania, hosts more than 600 youth.

But at the end of August, there were no children in sight. Instead, on a pleasant Friday afternoon, about 500 grown women had arrived by bus from New York City, ready to begin their weekend at Social Camp.

It was the second year of operation for the annual all-women summer camp. And it’s already making quite a splash in the growing industry.
