Sony announces more expensive, upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) – Sony (NYSE: ) announced that the PlayStation 5 Pro, an upgraded version of its flagship console that offers better graphics, will go on sale on November 7 for $699.99.

The new device, which lacks a disc drive but includes an improved graphics processing unit, costs 40% more than a regular PS5 with a disc drive.

Sony said it expects to sell 18 million PS5 consoles this financial year, down from 20.8 million in the same period last year.
