Belgium stocks fall at close of trade; BEL 20 down 0.33% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, it was down 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the were Galapagos NV (AS: ), which rose 2.33% or 0.60 points to trade at 26.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR: ) was up 1.16% or 0.90 points to end at 78.20 and KBC Groep NV (EBR: ) was up 1.15% or 0.76 points to 67. 08 at the end of transactions.

The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR: ), which fell 4.94% or 10.40 points to trade at 200.00 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR: ) declined 1.04% or 0.70 points to 66.70 and Sofina (EBR: ) declined 0.90% or 2.20 points to end at 243.60.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 39, with 17 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.02%, or 0.45, to $2,543.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery rose 2.33%, or 1.53, to $67.28 a barrel, while the November Brent crude contract rose 1.85% or 1.28, to 70.47 dollars per barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.31% to 0.85.

US dollar index futures rose 0.07% to 101.67.
