Stocks in Russia fall at the close of transactions; MOEX Russia fell 1.86% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, it lost 1.86%.

The best performers of the session on the were Globaltrans Investment Gdr (MCX: ), which rose 3.78% or 17.30 points to trade at 475.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgut-pref (MCX: ) added 2.37% or 1.16 points to end at 50.28 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX: ) was up 2.24% or 10.70 points to 488.45 at the end of trading.

The worst performers of the session were Gazprom PAO (MCX: ), which fell 2.40% or 2.92 points to 118.70 at the close. GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX: ) was down 2.03% or 2.10 points to 101.50 and Novolipetsk Steel PAO (MCX: ) was down 1.87% or 2.68 points to 140 ,76.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 196 to 54 and 6 ended unchanged.

Shares of GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.03% or 2.10 to 101.50.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 1.76 percent, or 44.65, to $2,587.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery rose 2.78%, or 1.87, to $69.18 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.07, to 72.23 dollars per barrel.

USD/RUB fell 0.03% to 89.18, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 98.77.

US dollar index futures fell 0.42% to 101.23.
