Australian shares rise at close of trade; The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.30% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Australia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sydney, it was up 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the were Perseus Mining Ltd (ASX: ), which rose 10.21% or 0.24 points to trade at 2.59 at the close. Meanwhile, The evolution of mining Ltd (ASX: ) added 7.18% or 0.29 points to end at 4.33 and Regis Resources Ltd (ASX: ) was up 6.96% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Omni Bridgeway Ltd (ASX: ), which fell 7.67% or 0.08 points to trade at 0.93 at the close. Seek Ltd (ASX: ) declined 2.96% or 0.68 points to end at 22.26 and Megaport Ltd (ASX: ) traded down 2.44% or 0.19 points to end at 7.59.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 634 to 438, with 454 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.58 percent, or 15.05, to $2,595.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery rose 0.57%, or 0.39, to $69.36 a barrel, while the November Brent crude contract rose 0.53% or 0.38, to 72.35 dollars per barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY fell 0.85% to 94.72.

US dollar index futures fell 0.22% to 101.12.
