Carnival’s Princess Cruise Line is expanding a popular promotion

Cruise prices rise and fall based on demand and the cruise line’s revenue goals for each sailing. Sometimes a cruise line can drop prices when a ship isn’t selling well, and in other cases it won’t because it has enough people booked paying enough money to make the sailing a success.

There is no exact formula that passengers can follow so that booking your cruise is either “within what you are willing to spend” or “what seems like a good deal.

In some cases the price of your cruise may drop and you may not notice, this should not happen if you use a good travel agent as they should track it for you.

If the price drops before final payment, you should ask your cruise line to make an adjustment. Sometimes they will say no and most of the time you will get the price difference in cedis on board.

This can be valuable, but it can leave you scrambling for ways to spend the credit if you don’t have many add-ons to buy and the price has changed considerably. Princess Cruises, a brand owned by Carnival, has offered a promotion designed to reassure passengers when it comes to the price of their cruise.

Princess is extending its price promotion

Earlier this year, Princess launched a promotion designed to give passengers peace of mind when booking a cruise in 2025 or 2026. Calling it the “Better Than Best Price Guarantee,” the offer ensures that if a guest finds a lower price for the same cruise, cabin category and sailing date before final payment, Princess Cruises will match the lower fare.

“Additionally, Princess Cruises will give 120 percent of the difference to passengers as onboard credit,” CruiseHive reported.

The promotion, which was supposed to end at the beginning of September, was not extended for the rest of the year.

“Our new guarantee underscores Princess’ commitment to providing guests with unmatched value and exceptional service…value unmatched by land-based vacations,” said Princess Chief Commercial Officer Terry Thornton. “This offer not only guarantees the best rates, but also gives guests the ability to choose their preferred dates and destinations.”

To receive the new price and onboard credit, booked passengers must submit a Guarantee Claim Form before final payment is due.
