Japan shares fall at the close; The Nikkei 225 was down 0.68% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, it was down 0.68%.

The best performers of the session on the were Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (TYO: ), which rose 7.26% or 333.00 points to trade at 4,918.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kuraray Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 4.18% or 78.50 points to end at 1,955.00 and Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO: ) was up 4.14% or 133.00 points to trade at 3,345.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Astellas Pharma Inc. (TYO: ), which decreased 4.72% or 84.50 points to trade at 1,705.00 at the close. Konami Corp. (TYO: ) declined 3.80% or 535.00 points to end at 13,550.00 and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (TYO: ) traded down 3.61% or 198.00 points to end at 5,285.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares of Kuraray Co., Ltd. (TYO:) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.18% or 78.50 to 1,955.00.

Crude oil for November delivery rose 0.40%, or 0.27, to $68.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for November delivery rose 0.31%, or 0.22, to $71.83 a barrel, while December gold futures rose 0.18 % or 4.70 to $2,615.40 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY fell 0.46% to 140.17, while EUR/JPY fell 0.27% to 155.62.

US dollar index futures fell 0.28% to 100.51.
