Japan will analyze the impact of the stronger yen, the finance minister said By Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Tuesday the government would continue to analyze the impact of recent currency moves on the Japanese economy and react accordingly.

“Rapid movements in the foreign exchange market are not desirable,” Suzuki said, speaking at a regular news conference after the cabinet meeting.

The US dollar fell to a more than one-year low against the yen on Monday on speculation that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates by 50 basis points at its policy meeting this week.
