COTI has announced the launch of its Tier 2 testnet with the support of a dozen ecosystem partners, including MyEtherWallet (MEW) and AnChain. The new EVM-enabled scalable network aims to provide affordable privacy solutions for the web3.

The testnet launch allows developers to explore COTI features and Garbled Circuits technology, developed in collaboration with Soda Labs. This implementation allows the joint computation of functions over private inputs without revealing those inputs.

“The response to the launch of our testnet has been amazing, projects and developers from various sectors across the web3 have joined our community to build the future of private blockchain,” said COTI CEO Shahaf Bar-Geffen.

The testnet provides tools for developers, including an explorer, faucet, SDK support, and a Remix plugin for smart contract development. COTI claims its solution is faster and easier than existing privacy options based on published benchmarking results.

“We are excited to partner to provide COTI with easy-to-use products that are open source and privacy-centric,” added Kosala Hemachandra, CEO and founder of MyEtherWallet.

COTI’s technology aims to enable confidential transactions at scale and provide an affordable and secure MPC, potentially unlocking new applications in decentralized confidential finance (DeFi), quantum-resistant privacy and data sovereignty.
