A teenager was attacked on a street near McDonald’s in Bordesley Green as roads were closed

A boy was attacked on a street in Birmingham. It happened in Belchers Lane, next to a branch of McDonald’s and close to the junction of Bordesley Green and Bordesley Green East, close to Heartlands Hospital, just before 3.30pm today, Friday 17 May.

Police and ambulance crews were sent to the scene. It is understood roads and a footpath were closed and the boy was assessed before being taken to hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.22pm to reports of an assault on Belchers Lane in Bordesley Green in Birmingham. An ambulance and a crew of the Patient Transport Service went to the scene.

“On arrival we found a teenager who was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening. He was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.”

West Midlands Police have been contacted for a statement.
