Jamie Carragher compares Manchester United and Sheffield United in the Erik ten Hag rant

Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United are one of the worst-coached sides in the Premier League as he criticized the management of Erik ten Hag’s side.

The ten Hag is under huge pressure at United right now and his future looks in grave danger after a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night. Michael Olise scored twice as United finished second at Selhurst Park, falling to their 13th league defeat of the campaign, which leaves them eighth.

The picture doesn’t look good for Ten Hag. And Carragher compared United’s defense to that of bottom club, already relegated Sheffield United, arguing that the players lack belief under the Dutchman.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Liverpool defender said: “This is one of the most under-coached teams in the Premier League. This is a fact. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

“The numbers tell you that when they’re at the bottom of the league defensively, below Sheffield United. Your performance levels will drop and the results aren’t as good when you’re missing your best players, this is the most obvious thing to say.”

With the Ten Hag’s future increasingly under threat, Carragher said how United play is more important than results at the moment, with just three Premier League games of the season remaining, plus the FA Cup final against of Manchester City.
