Bristolians enjoy the sunshine over the years in 15 images

For the past few years, Bristol has experienced at least one heatwave every summer, if not more, and this year is starting to look like we could be in for the same. With clear skies and summer sunshine, people enjoy the warm weather slightly differently; whether sitting in their garden trying to get a tan or heading to the local pool, river or lake to cool off in the water.

At the start of the bank holidays at the start of May this year, we were treated to some gorgeous sunny weather which generally decided to stick around. But like previous years, we can expect even warmer weather as we are only in May.

In July 2019, Bristol faced temperatures of around 30 degrees, leaving locals and visitors scrambling for any shade they could use to cool off. And last June, parts of the region experienced a heatwave which saw people jumping into the River Avon to make the most of the cool water in the hot weather.
