A 47-year-old British man has died while on holiday in Thailand

A 47-year-old man was found dead in his hotel room while on holiday in Thailand. Friends and family are now trying to raise money to bring Simon Brown home. Simon was found last Saturday, May 11, reports WalesOnline.

Simon’s friend Mark Davies said: “It’s just a total shock, it was so unexpected. He wasn’t sick.” Mr Davies added: “There was nothing wrong with him. Everyone knew him. He was a crazy guy – really outgoing and always up for a laugh.

“He was a very hard worker as a machine operator and when he wasn’t working he was always on holiday. He especially liked going to Thailand. We don’t know anything at the moment about the circumstances surrounding it. it happened on Saturday, so we know very little.”

Simon’s family are appealing for help to raise money to bring him back to Wales, which they say will be an “expensive process”. “We are asking everyone who knew and loved Browny to help us bring him back home,” they said in a statement on a fundraising page which is trying to raise £10,000 sterling. “As a family we are now trying to bring Simon back home so we can lay him to rest at his home in Swansea,” they said. “Thank you to everyone who has contacted us and sent messages of condolence and we appreciate any help you can give us.”
