Alisson on Klopp’s farewell, Wolves, Premier League landmark and more

The Reds take on Gary O’Neil’s side in what will be Klopp’s final game in charge before his departure in the summer after an unforgettable nine-year spell.

The boss will bring down the curtain on a trophy-laden spell in the Liverpool dugout, with goalkeeper Alisson playing a key role in the huge success he has brought to the club.

“There will be a lot (of excitement) for sure,” the No.1 told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I can tell myself that these moments are not so easy to manage; to say goodbye But everybody will be in that mood (and) really excited. I think you get emotional when you realize how good the spirit was (and ) how good the ride was.

“The gaffer gave the opportunity not only to the players to be part of this successful team, but he gave (it) to the fans as well. He made the fans feel part of it. I think that’s why everyone will be so excited . “

He added: “Everyone here in the AXA building (Training Centre) will feel his departure and all his staff.

“But what this man has done here (and) what he is creating here is a legacy. Legacies last longer than trophies…he will be eternal. He will be among the eternal managers and eternal figures and eternal people of this club. “

On his 200th Premier League appearance for Liverpool…

I’m really proud. I think that is a very good number to reach. It’s been such a good trip here in Liverpool. I feel proud of that. To play 200 games in the Premier League, one of the best in the world (and) to have this opportunity is a great honor for me. I am grateful that the club gave me this opportunity.

How tough is the Premier League…

We have the most competitive league here in the Premier League, with all due respect to others. I haven’t played in many leagues. I played in Italy and Brazil. They are really competitive and in different things (and) different levels. But at the moment here are the best players in the world (and) also a lot of big clubs. You always start the season with a lot of teams fighting for titles, fighting for places in the Champions League (and) Europe competitions. It’s a very good level that we have here and I’m glad to be a part of it.

On his reflections on the overall season for the team…

We are pleased. Of course we are not completely satisfied because we wanted to win and we are fighting to win the (Premier League) trophy. But we have to be honest with ourselves. I think this season we are reaching a very good level in terms of performances and a few times we have not reached the right level. I think we’re a little short, to be honest, of winning the trophy, but getting into the Champions League is a huge success for us. I know that in the world of successful football there is only one team that wins the trophy. In my perspective on life, it’s not just about that.

It’s about achieving goals (and) growing as human beings (and) growing as athletes. I believe so many good things. The young players stepped up to a very good level this season when we needed them the most. The leadership group, all the players that needed to step up and in different roles, we did. Unfortunately, we couldn’t win the title, but I’m happy that we have the place in the Champions League for next season. It’s a big boost for us for what’s to come.

Looking to finish the season on a high against Wolves on Sunday…

Of course. We are focused on that. It’s a different situation. I think since I’ve been here for the last game, we’ve always had something to fight for. Maybe (a) a place in the Champions League or a place or trophies for a European competition. It’s different now, but we’re playing for ourselves (and) we’re playing for the gaffer to say goodbye. We play (and for the fans). We have so many good reasons to do this. Like I said before, my outlook on life, I don’t need a trophy to win to play a good game, to give it my all. The same goes for the other players. We will give everything we can to win and have a happy ending for everyone who leaves.
