E&S Vet Miller and team launch MGA Pivix

Former Scottsdale Insurance president Mike Miller will now serve as president and CEO of general excess and surplus management agency Pivix Specialty Insurance Services.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Pivix is ​​an E&S platform that provides property/casualty coverages for targeted segments. Products will be distributed exclusively through wholesale brokers.

“Pivix is ​​dedicated to the wholesale market, underwriting excellence and leading edge technology,” said Miller. “We have a wealth of experience to be able to deliver results for both the wholesale agent and the markets we will represent.”

The management team of the company are all graduates at the national level. In addition to Miller, who also started P/C Ategrity Specialty Insurance Co. in 2018, Ken Levine, Joe Griffith and Sandy Vertuno are involved in founding Pivix.

Levine is Pivix’s chief financial officer and chief actuary. He joined Nationwide’s executive team as Chief Actuary of Scottsdale and went on to serve as CFO of several of Nationwide’s specialty P/C companies.

Griffith will be chief intelligence officer. He spent 22 years in various technology roles at Nationwide and Ategrity.

Vertuno is now chief underwriting officer at Pivix, after more than 30 years at Nationwide, rising to senior director of underwriting before becoming head of underwriting.
