A 4-0 drubbing of Norwich City set up a trip to Wembley next Sunday with one game in the way of promotion.

After Leeds beat the Canaries, it was Southampton and West Brom’s turn to battle it out for a trip to Wembley in similar circumstances – with Saints returning to their home ground with the scores tied at 0-0.

They were, like Leeds, comfortably the better side on Friday night and were rewarded in the second half by Will Smallbone’s fierce strike.

Then two goals from talisman Adam Armstrong sealed the tie for Saints, booking their place at Wembley to face the Whites.
