Watch the moment the baby osprey was toppled from the fish nest at Rutland Water

The moment a trapped baby osprey was rescued by rescuers after it was knocked out of its nest by a fish was caught on webcam.

The chick’s father brought the fish to the nest, but it was still alive and flipped it out, leaving it stuck on the edge of the nest and unable to free itself.

The team from Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, who were observing the nest at Rutland Water, decided to intervene.

They jumped into a boat and safely moved the chick back to the center of the nest.

Trust said the chick hatched “amidst spectacular auroras in the sky” over the weekend.
