Two arrested for ‘violent disturbance’ near McDonald’s after 16-year-old boy seriously injured

Two men were in police custody after an incident on a Birmingham street which left a boy seriously injured and requiring hospital treatment. An alleged attack took place in Belchers Lane, near a branch of McDonald’s, close to the junction of Bordesley Green and Bordesley Green East, just before 3.30pm on Friday 17 May.

Roads in the area were closed after a 16-year-old boy suffered a serious arm injury. The boy was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to hospital. The police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of violent disorder.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “We are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a serious arm injury following a disturbance on Belchers Lane on Friday afternoon.

“Two men, aged 28 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in custody for questioning.
