Colombia ends beef ban from US states with bird flu in dairy cows By Reuters

CHICAGO (Reuters) – Colombia has lifted restrictions on U.S. beef imports from states where dairy cattle have tested positive for bird flu, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture website.

In April, Colombia became the only country to officially limit trade in US beef due to bird flu, extending the economic impact of the virus that has restricted poultry trade globally.

The US Meat Export Federation, a trade group, confirmed that Colombia had lifted its restrictions.

More than 230 dairy herds in 14 US states have tested positive for bird flu since March, according to the USDA.
