Hull KR make three changes as Wigan Warriors make a debut in their Challenge Cup semi-final

Willie Peters has made three changes to his Hull KR team for the Challenge Cup semi-final against Wigan Warriors. Elliot Minchella and Sam Luckley both return after missing last week’s defeat to Warrington Wolves, while Tom Opacic is recalled in the centre.

It was already known that Jack Broadbent and Jack Brown would not be able to play as they were cup-tied, but the third player ruled out is Matty Storton, who was named as 18th man. Instead, George King was given the nod, having previously been 18th man in games against Wigan Warriors and St Helens when Storton was included.

Minchella’s return sees Dean Hadley return to the back row and Kelepi Tanginoa moves to the bench. Meanwhile, Luckley takes his usual spot on the bench. Opacic partners Ryan Hall on the left wing with Peta Hiku remaining on the right with Joe Burgess.

It’s a side with a familiar feel, with Peters finding some continuity with his team selection in recent weeks. As for Wigan, they will hand a debut to Sam Walters, who is fit again after missing the start of the season with a broken collarbone. He will play off the bench for Matt Peet’s side. He replaced Liam Byrne, who is suspended for the match.
