Charity shop owners are calling on the Coventry community for help after a burglary

An appeal has been made to the Willenhall community to come together and help a charity shop which was targeted by raiders, causing £1,500 worth of damage.

Shop owners – Sense, which raises cash to support people living with complex disabilities, was burgled overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The store on Remembrance Road was forced to close all day Wednesday, resulting in lost sales as well as the cost of repairs.

The front door was destroyed and the back camera and box were badly damaged, but very little was taken.

Simone Tiano, area manager for Sense stores, said: “The team is very upset about the break.

“It feels heartless to destroy our store and force us to close for an entire day.”

Sense Coventry is now appealing to the public for support, including share donations and cash donations.

They are also welcoming new volunteer applications to help conquer this burglary failure.

Simone said everyone at Sense was determined to fight back and make up for all the losses.

“We would welcome any help people can give us.

“Sense is a fantastic charity supporting people living with complex disabilities.

“We are so proud of our Willenhall store and the work we do here.”

Anyone who can help can come into the store, email (email protected) or call 02476 305718.
