Hull KR’s Mikey Lewis warns Wigan ahead of semi-final replay: ‘We are better’.

MIKEY Lewis is hoping he doesn’t have time to sit still as Wigan are denied a place at Wembley – as he and Hull KR are better than last year.

History may repeat itself as Rovers look to stop the Warriors once again in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup.

But the Robins’ talisman believes they have what it takes to do so in far less dramatic circumstances than Brad Schneider’s extra-time goal which got them there in 2023.

He said: “It felt like forever when I was behind Brad!

“All I remember is you jumping over him saying, ‘We’re going to Wembley.’ What he did was huge for us and will be a huge memory for the whole club.

“This year, though, it probably won’t matter for nothing. We have a lot of different players and it’s a different team – we’re better than last year.

“And as a club, playing group and staff, we are more experienced. We are ready to take the next step towards winning trophies and that is what we need.

“It was very disappointing to lose last year’s final to Leigh but we will be better for it this time.

“It’s all about action now and putting in a performance to get back to Wembley.

“Wigan have a good team. It’s about how we stop them and their star players from getting on the front foot.

“That’s how far we’ve come as a team and club. We’re confident and we’ve proven we can do it – there’s no reason why we can’t do it again.”
