Police discovered an ‘attempted drug deal’ near the primary school

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a suspected drug-trafficking attempt outside a school, police said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) borough officers said they saw an incident outside a primary school in Scholes, Wigan, on Wednesday.

When officers searched an address they found a large quantity of crack cocaine and heroin and hundreds of pounds in cash.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, from Merseyside, were arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Posting on the GMP Wigan West Facebook page, officers said: “If there’s one thing that gets our blood boiling, it’s the attempted drug dealing outside a local primary school.

“We know who you are, where you are and you found out yesterday when neighborhood officers from Scholes and Ince walked through your door.”

Police said an eviction notice was sent to the person who lives at the address.
