Nuneaton Park will be changed after almost 20 years

A nearly 20-year-old park in Nuneaton is set for a makeover – and you can decide what happens in it. The Marlborough Road recreation ground is one of several in the borough to be given an upgrade.

Part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) of £4,028,173 given to the district council is being spent on improvements and the Marlborough Road recreation ground is one of them. The council said the play equipment had been “well used” and was now 18 years old.

But City Hall said that while it doesn’t have enough money to completely change the park’s layout, it is looking to improve the amenities. However, before making any changes, the council wants to hear from residents.

It has launched a public consultation, which includes an online survey as well as a session. “We are looking to get the best value for money and improve the facilities on offer and we would like to hear your views through our online survey,” said a council spokesman.

The survey is open today, May 7th and runs until Saturday, May 25th. People can take the survey online by clicking here.

There is also a consultation event on Saturday 11 May at the community center in Edward Street from 11am to 1pm.
