BGT judge Simon Cowell made a surprise phone call to the mum of Leeds contestants after a secret audition

The mother of a Leeds comedian was surprised by a phone call from Simon Cowell after her son failed to tell her he was auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent.

Alex Mitchell appeared on the hit ITV series tonight and impressed the judges and audience with his dating humor as an autistic man who also has ticks.

At the end of the audition, it was clear that Alex was overcome with emotion after the response to his performance. Addressing the audience, he said: “It’s wonderful and it’s a dream come true. Thank you very much, good night.”

Alex advanced to the next round after receiving four yeses from the judges. Simon then surprised him and told him to call his parents to let them know how well he did.

Addressing his mother, Simon said: “Becky? I want to talk to you about your son. As you know, he’s at a stag party tonight and his behavior has been absolutely appalling!”
