Thunderstorms Moving Through Birmingham Metro: Alabama Weather Blog

Extended storms now in the I-59 Corridor from Fort Payne and Valley. Head to Gadsden, then Ashville and Argo through west St. Clair and eastern Jefferson, then from western Birmingham back to Bessemer and McCalla, with additional storms extending into Tuscaloosa.

Individual storms are moving east at 25-30 mph as the arc of storms moves southeast.

Other strong storms are now forming from near Sylacauga to the town of Pell to Calhoun County.

Back west, storms are developing in Lamar County, Alabama and Lowndes County, Mississippi.

Watch out for very heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds and some hail.

The Storms are a little ahead of schedule, but that’s better news for tonight’s game at Protective Stadium between the unruly Birmingham Stallions and the Houston Roughnecks. The shot is at 7.
