Castleford Tigers have secured the return of the Wigan Warriors striker on loan from injury

Castleford Tigers will be hoping to see Sam Eseh make his debut at the second time of asking, with the Wigan Warriors prop returning to the club on a new loan deal. Rugby League Live can reveal that Eseh is set for another spell at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle after joining Cas on a short-term basis.

The towering forward originally joined the Tigers last month but was forced out of the club’s win over London Broncos after picking up a hamstring complaint in the captain’s run. He was subsequently ruled out in the draw against Leigh Leopards last week.

But he will be available for selection this week when Craig Lingard’s side host St Helens. The Tigers are looking to go three games unbeaten for the first time since July 2022. Castleford are currently tenth in Super League having won two and drawn one of their opening ten games this season.

Eseh is a new signing for Wigan after joining the club from Wakefield Trinity in the off-season. The 20-year-old, who is 1.8m 4, has made 14 Super League appearances in his career while catching the eye while playing in the Championship for Featherstone Rovers. He is yet to make his Wigan debut after a pre-season injury ruled him out of the opening rounds of the season.

Eseh is one of two players on loan from the Super League champions this week, with Tiaki Chan heading to Hull FC on a short-term deal.
