Spirit Aero reviews furlough contingency plans amid Boeing strike By Reuters

(Reuters) – Key Boeing (NYSE: ) supplier Spirit AeroSystems (NYSE: ) is reviewing its contingency plans regarding furloughs, company spokesman Joe Buccino said on Thursday, adding that no decisions had been made at this time.

The planning by the financially troubled aerostructures giant follows a strike by more than 30,000 Boeing workers on the US West Coast, which is now spilling over into the planemaker’s supply chain.

The Financial Times reported on Wednesday that Spirit will begin furloughs in three weeks if the strike continues.
