Wigan Warriors player ratings as Junior Nsemba shines in Hull KR win

Wigan Warriors reached the final of the Challenge Cup for the second time in three years, comfortably beating Hull KR 38-6 at Doncaster.

It is the Warriors’ 12th win in 14 games in all competitions since 2024, with Matt Peet’s side just 80 minutes away from securing their second major trophy of the season, having already won the World Club Challenge in February.

Unsurprisingly, given the scoreline against Hull KR, there were a number of huge individual displays for Wigan. Here are Loves Rugby LeagueHis player ratings for a Wigan team heading to Wembley.

Jai Field – 8

A classy performance from Field at the back. He connected well with the rest of the spine and his lethal footwork caused KR some problems.

Abbas Miski – 8

A hard-working display from the Lebanon international, who produced a superb finish from Bevan French’s chip shot in the first half. His hauls helped get Wigan out of trouble from deep, especially in the first half.

Adam Keighran – 7

Keighran was solid in attack and defense and was impressive with his kicking when he took over the conversion duties from Harry Smith. Keighran was sin-binned in the second half, albeit following a melee with Hull KR center Tom Opacic.

Jake Wardle – 8

The England international showed today why he is one of the best centers in Super League. He took a brace, with one attempt in each half.

Liam Marshall – 8

A strong performance from the Wigan winger who provided two assists for Abbas Miski and Harry Smith. His execution off the field was impressive.

Ethan Howard – 8

The England international impressed in his first start of the season following his recovery from a hamstring injury, having made three appearances off the bench. It came with a number of powerful ports.

Brad O’Neill – 8

The 21-year-old has become a mainstay in Peet’s forward pack and it’s not hard to see why. He goes through a barrage of work in defense and his distribution from fake half is first class.

Luke Thompson – 8

What a signing Thompson has turned out to be for the Warriors so far. The central prop led from the front in typical fashion: solid both in attack and defence.

Junior Nsemba – 9

Remember, remember, Junior Nsemba. The towering 19-year-old seems to be getting better with every game he plays. He was a constant threat on the wing and troubled the KR defense with his explosive carries.

Liam Farrell – 7

Wigan’s Mr Reliable never has a bad game. He was strong on the wing and went through a lot of work on defense.

Kaide Ellis – 8

The Aussie forward got a great offload in the early stages and had a brilliant opening, laying the platform in the middle alongside Havard and Thompson.

The bank

Patrick Mago – 7

The Samoan powerhouse made an impact from the bench as usual, coming up with several big wickets. It’s pretty rare to see Mago get attacked on the ground.

Kruise Leeming – 8

Leeming is really finding his feet at Wigan now and made a real splash when he came off the bench. He’s a different style of hooker than O’Neill, which makes them a formidable partnership when they rotate.

Tyler Dupree – 8

Similar to Mago, Dupree is known for having a big impact on the game when coming off the bench, given his large frame. The England international also got on the scoresheet in the second half.

Sam Walters – 7

The towering forward made his long-awaited debut for Wigan after recovering from a broken collarbone he suffered in pre-season. Walters came on in the second innings and put his hand up for more wickets. No doubt there will be more to come from him, but winning a semi-final and going to Wembley… What a start to his Wigan career.
