Hay fever sufferers urged to buy £3 Asda item as weather warms

With the weather finally starting to warm up, many hay fever sufferers are dealing with some grim symptoms.

Experts at Online-Bedrooms.co.uk previously told the ECHO that keeping the window open at night can make hay fever symptoms worse. Millions of people in the UK will be hit with grass pollen over the next few months.

While many are excited to see the weather finally warming up, it can be difficult to fall asleep at night without opening the window – which can worsen symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath and itchy eyes.

This can cause many allergy sufferers to wake up feeling groggy and tired from disturbed sleep.

Instead, experts advise placing a thin sheet, which can be bought for £3 from Asda, over the windows to keep out the cracks of light. This can help stop the room getting too warm overnight without having to open the windows.

They also suggest using an energy-efficient fan, silk bedding — which has anti-allergenic properties — and a wet towel that can cool you down quickly if placed on your forehead for about 10 minutes.
