The five most popular pubs in the country according to our survey

We asked our readers to nominate the best country pubs in Leicestershire and the results are in. And the top five pubs are all in the north and north-west of the county.

In first place – with almost twice as many votes as the second-placed pub, was The George Inn in Coleorton, near Coalville. The friendly village guesthouse offers great food, a popular beer garden with a children’s play area and plenty of beer for guests.

In second place was The Wheatsheaf Inn in Woodhouse Eaves, near Loughborough, while the third place pub was The Queens Head in Belton, near Shepshed, which has the same owners as The George Inn.
