Japan’s August output falls 3.3% month-on-month By Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s factory output fell 3.3 percent in August from a month earlier, against an average market forecast for a 0.9 percent drop, government data showed on Monday.

Manufacturers surveyed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expect seasonally adjusted output to rise 2.0% in September and expand 6.1% in October.

Separate data showed that retail sales in Japan rose 2.8 percent in August from a year earlier, above the average market forecast for a 2.3 percent rise.
